Responding to high crime rates, increasing poverty and poor mental health, Three13 Training want to share the hope of Jesus to transform lives in Sunderland.
Lauderdale Trust funding has helped Three13 expand their work, creating a Christian Training Hub (or ‘lifeline’ as one learner described it) in the heart of Hendon. Over 45% of the learners attending have a criminal conviction and need support to re-connect with the community and move their lives forward.
John and Colin have delivered free work-based training in carpentry and construction skills to over 120 adults over the grant period to date, who between them have achieved over 150 vocational qualifications. Sharing their personal faith as they go, 57 people have welcomed gospel conversations and 16 have gone on to make a personal commitment of faith. They’ve also connected with local churches to run evening Alpha courses at the Hub, witnessed healings and had the privilege of attending 4 baptisms.
