
The Exodus Project runs Christian youth work in the Barnsley area in partnership with local churches. Funding from The Lauderdale Trust has contributed to the Volunteer Coordinator’s salary.
Our work has transformed positively since our application, in terms of reach and impact. We now have 21 weekly clubs… including the newly launched Family Clubs, which take place before our usual Kidz Klub and Rock Solid programmes. This has transformed our ability to be alongside parents and carers, targeting those who might be in most need of support and friendship. Our programmes with the families started quite structured and covered things like money management, stress management and mental health support. More recently, as relationships have grown and the atmosphere has become more relational, we have developed a more informal approach that focuses on friendship building and strengthening the family.
We have told stories over the years of our grant, and we continue to receive weekly feedback from beneficiaries, which we love to share:
