E:merge (UK) Ltd carries out youth work in schools and in the community in four deprived parts of Bradford (Holme Wood, Bierley, East Bowling and Sutton). Lauderdale Trust funding supports their faith-based youth work, including 4 different weekly/ fortnightly sessions.
Get Real in Sutton, an evening meeting for 11-18s, continues to thrive with roughly 35 to 40 young people there each evening. We changed the day we meet at the beginning of September and have been really pleased that this has not made any noticeable difference to our numbers, and we have engaged new young people too. Our theme this term is Encountering Jesus, looking at the stories and lives of the people Jesus met through the Gospels, how meeting Jesus changed their lives, and how this may apply to us today. The small groups associated with Get Real are following the same theme… we took a group of young people from Get Real away for three days over summer which was a lovely time to deepen relationships and open up topics and exploration in more focused ways.
