Off the Fence is a charity working to see an end to social and spiritual poverty in Brighton and Hove. Funding from The Lauderdale Trust supports their Antifreeze project, which provides survival essentials, employment opportunities, bible studies, mental health support and agency referrals to rough sleepers and individuals temporarily housed through their evening outreach and day centre on Portland Road.
“Our Bible study sessions, held three times a week, create space for reflection, discussion, and hope – welcoming clients of all faiths and none. Over the past six months, we’ve focused on Psalms and the Gospels, reinforcing that God is our “safe place” during trials. Clients often feel safe enough to rest physically during worship, something they rarely experience on the streets due to the risk of theft or physical attacks.”
